Everybody is certain that Space is hard - traditional space missions take years of planning and billions of dollars, and still sometimes fail. This mindset has prevented the development of a space economy for decades, and continues to slow it. Space, like any other challenge, is certainly complicated, but hard creates an artificial boundary that hinders the rapid innovation and iteration that has seen so much success in other industries. Hard is a myth.
Change the perception of space by creating a summer program that provides teams of young professionals, university students, and startups with an engineering design challenge. Think XPRIZE meets Iron Chef! Over 2 months, teams are challenged to develop innovative solutions to a predefined problem in space exploration that would usually takes years to solve. Teams will develop their ideas in a detailed design document, with the help of an extensive network of experts and industry-leading mentors. The teams will be evaluated at different points of the competition, and Prize winners will be selected at the end.
